Version 4 of the Modern Slavery Questionnaire (MSQv4) was introduced in the EB360 3.7 release. It is available in English, German & French-Canadian (with other languages available on request). Compared to previous versions, MSQv4 offers the following benefits:
- Targeted questions to support compliance with Canadian S-211 legislation.
- Additional coverage for human rights regulations in Germany and Australia.
- Updated industry and jurisdiction risk scores.
- Updates to the high-risk products list.
- More detailed results and reporting.
The MSQv4 questions
You can download and view the full list of questions at this page:
Personalising your questionnaire
If there are questions you don't require (e.g. the new Canada-specific questions) they can be hidden. You can also have separate versions of the MSQv4, with or without these questions, to send to different suppliers.
Scoring the MSQv4
MSQv4 uses a different scoring mechanism to previous versions of the questionnaire. Benefits of the new scoring mechanism include:
- More detailed reporting
Individual elements that contribute to the overall risk score (e.g. jurisdiction alerts or human rights alerts) are captured from the questionnaire and displayed on the Manage Third Parties page, as well as on dashboards and custom user views, so that you can compare different aspects of risk across multiple third parties. For example: - Greater insight and customisation
The new scoring mechanism enables answers from your questionnaires to be captured and displayed directly on dashboards, list views and the Third Party Profile.
For example, if you are particularly interested in human rights, you could report on what human rights laws a business is required to report under, whether the business has been the subject of an internal or external human rights risks assessment, and whether that assessment made any findings on human rights impacts.
Risk scores
Norton Rose Fulbright have provided an update to the risk scores associated with Jurisdiction, Industry, Product and Indigenous populations. This is based on recent updates to the Global Slavery Index (GSI).
For example, Bakery Product Manufacturing has been upgraded from moderate to high risk because bakery items and baked goods commonly use palm fruit as an ingredient, and palm fruit is listed as a 'High Risk Always' product.
MSQv4 dashboards
When you adopt the MSQv4 as part of your due diligence solution, our team will provide you with a personalized dashboard and a list-based summary view to help you visualize and understand the results of your MSQv4 questionnaires.
Your can also request or create your own additional custom user views. For example, you might have a detailed list view that allows you to compare specific aspects of risk (e.g. risks related to jurisdiction) across multiple third parties.
